11월 19일 Wow... Where does the time go?Not even sure if this is even read anymore by any one.... But here it is almost a full year since the last time I have written.... Most may know that I have gotten married this past september and have moved to Grand Rapids..... That part of my life is going so very well. I thank those loves that went before that taught me how to finally get it right....
Even now, time is short so I will be brief and see if maybe I can get back into post more often.
We are getting ready for the Holidays. Expecting a big Thanksgiving dinner here with the whole family coming. Am really looking forward to it. Gary is out hanging christmas lights as I type.... but I told him it was too early to bring them inside. LOL
Do to a recent computer crash and the loss of all our personal data... we are trying to reconstruct all our lost photos and music etc. At least we had the wedding pictures already printed and stored.
I gotta go... was good to chat with ya for a bit... later!! 1월 21일 New?Every 365 days we get a chance to start anew.... when you think about it though, we start anew every morning we wake up. What we chose to do with our day is ours to decide - waste it or work it well. I know I tend to waste a few to many but then how does one define wasting a day.... I simply do things that I enjoy.... I don't clean every day, I don't create or finish something all the time but I at least enjoy what I did. If that is wasting then I suppose I waste most of my days. LOL
Anyway, I hope you have days that are wasted as well!!
Now wasn't that phylisophical...... NOT!! 12월 17일 The Price of RetailOnce again the holiday season is upon us. We shop and shop looking for the special gift that will say I know you, I care about you. Retail business increases to it's all time high for the year. We find this.... it's good, I like it..... we shop more .... we find something better.... we discard the first by simply setting it down anywhere..... Ka Ching! the price just went up! We really like this item, but does it ..... so we open the package, with disregard.... oh it does, I will get this instead..... we abandon the second item, and the opened packaged one of the third, take a nice new one and we are on our way... Ka Ching! Ka Ching! the price just went up! In retail there is a word called overhead cost, it refers to the cost of getting product to the consumer, not simply the cost of the merchandise itself. Everytime a shopper leaves a mess in their wake the retailer has to pay someone to clean it up, that isn't a free process. Working in retail has made me a much more conscientious shopper myself. I spend a minimum of 2 hours out of my 8 hour day simply cleaning up after such examples as above. Returning merchandise to their proper homes, repairing packaging, finding and reporting stolen or empty packages..... Ka Ching! the price just went up!
So think about it..... then next time you are wondering why prices are so high... stop and remember.... what did you do with that item you changed your mind about? When you didn't want the opened package, why would anyone else? Did you pay for that one you broke or hide it on the shelf? We all pay in the end..... Ka Ching! the price just went up! 12월 7일 Update - Thought? Two Wows! - an I suspected - what next?
Isn't it interesting how our minds tend to fret over nothing? How the actual event is never as bad as we percieve it will be. We are our own worst enemy, are we not? That, combined with fear of the unknown is a deadly combination. When will we learn that and stop worrying. I guess we are all still to young. 9월 22일 Just a Taste of PoetryThe Storm
The sweetest smell hangs in the air like the lingering scent of a passing love Stillness fills the void of all sound as if the earth were submersed from above
The horizon pours forth a power unknown contained by natures omnipresence rolling in violent shades of purple and blue billowy masses forcing acceptance
Hearts left pounding from deafening explosions the choreographed demolition begins With transient bursts, eyes are blinded the switch being thrown from somewhere within
Timidity and awe grip all of mankind like a tired child, offers no resistance The nectar of life feeds our souls quenching our meager and parched existence
The world is satiated, if just for a while baptized by natures falling grace washes away this world of sin As the cleansing is taking place

There use to be a time when someone said something, implied or promised to do something, you could count on "their word". "Their word"....... they give you "their word"....... you can count on "their word". Who's word is it anyway? Once it is given does it not change ownership? If you give me "your word", does it not then become mine? Would you not treat my belongings with the utmost respect? Of course...... if you give me "your word", I would then expect you to "keep your word". So it never truly belongs to me. It is and always will be "your word". So what is "your word" worth? The value of "words" is only valued by the receiver yet the value is set by those that give it. Some "words" are a dime a dozen..... Others are priceless. It does not matter what "the word" is, if it is given...... then keep it, those not kept are sometimes the ones that harm the most. Don't diminish the value of "your word" or soon you will find that "your word" is of no value to anyone, and they will no longer believe what you say.
Long story short ~ Can people RELY on what you say?
